    Maison Margiela’s packaging is founded in the core philosophies of the House. The optical white handles of carrier bags appear frayed to evoke the trace of time as an evolution of the house’s original anonymous fabric totes.

The iconic 5AC line takes its name from the French word 'sac' (bag). It explores the Maison’s Anonymity of the lining concept. The bag's metal rivets are covered in leather by hand, with the metal visible only where needed, for a clean aspect. Artisanal details include the bag's exposed edges hand-painted in tone with the leather.
